As you are aware, the Oakridge area is undergoing significant construction and development:
"The new Oakridge will be a mixed-use, transit-oriented neighbourhood hub. The introduction of significantly more residential and office space, community amenities, a public park and arts programming will transform the site from an urban shopping centre into a vibrant, sustainable and culturally diverse community that will attract visitors from all over Metro Vancouver and beyond."
Construction of the new Oakridge is taking place in two phases with the first phase of retail, housing and public amenities hopefully opening in late 2025 with the entire project slated to complete by 2028? The timeline is frequently updated.
As a result, traffic and parking will be an ongoing evolving effort. Please leave yourself extra time to get to your appointment as you will almost assuredly be delayed.
Presently the only vehicle access to medical / dental is from the Cambie & 42nd entrance from either the north or south. Traffic tends to be lighter coming from the south. Enter the parkade and spiral your way up to the rooftop parking to easily access the 3rd floor offices.
"The Canada Line remains an ideal way to access the office.": There are security personnel that will direct you to the stairwell to access the 3rd floor. Alternatively you can there is a gold cart shuttle service provided by security that can bring you up through the parkade. Presently THERE IS NO ELEVATOR SERVICE IN THE BUILDING. Hopefully the elevator will be restored by he end of 2025.
The parkade also has a height limit of 6"7" so any taller vehicles cannot enter. If you are in a wheelchair and are relying on public transit, Oakridge will preschedule and pay for an accessible taxi with 24 hours notice.
Parking will continue to change. Please monitor your email confirmations for the latest details and thank you for your patience through all the confusion. The end result will be an amazing new community!
